2022 Spring Trends to Watch

Spring season is in full swing, and it’s a good time to check in on what’s trendy or what isn’t.

As much as I emphasize understanding your style and dressing accordingly, it’s good practice to peep at new and trendy springtime outfits and accessories to see if there’s something that might fit your style.

Of course, and as you know, the pandemic has affected the fashion industry in many ways, from the supply chain to our choice of outfits. Some of the trends we’re seeing today is a  result of the pandemic's impact. And whether we like it or not, many of them are here to stay.

This article will highlight some spring fashion trends that I’ve got my eyes on recently, and hopefully, one or two of them can inspire you and perhaps fit your style.

  1. Miniskirts

Miniskirts became a popular outfit choice back in the ‘60s, and after the buzz simmered down for a while, they have resurfaced in recent years. The difference is, this time, miniskirts are much shorter. Miniskirts present many people with a versatile, easy-going outfit choice, especially after two years of wearing loungewear. Even more, they pair well with sneakers, slippers, and other comfortable footwear.

2. Bold colors

Have you noticed more people wearing colorful outfits recently? If yes, then you’re spotted a surprising but exciting spring fashion trend. People gravitate toward bold colors more than regular neutral colors when picking their outfits. Colors like green, orange, purple, red, and pink are becoming more commonplace and what I love so much about these bold colors is the monochromatic styling. This type of styling involves basically wearing the same shade of color as pants, a shirt, and shoes.

3. Bralette

Bras are gradually becoming tops. More people are wearing them as part of a two-piece suit (oversized blazer and wide-leg pants). This style can fit just about everybody's type, so anyone can try this. It can be paired with pants or skirts, and individuals who aren’t comfortable wearing just a bralette can always have a t-shirt as a cover-up. This is why the trend fits every body.

4. Cut-Outs

Cut-Outs have become commonplace in many clothing items, from dresses to tops. Some clothing pieces have cut-outs by the side, while you may find cut-outs all over some dresses or in the top part of a blouse (i.e., tops). To wear cut-outs, you should consider your body shape and comfort level. Make sure the cut-out’s positioning and size complement your entire look. Cut-out on both sides of an outfit tend to look good on women with hourglass shape. So, if that’s you, go for it.

5. Skirt suit

The skirt suits trend is back and rightly so. They were a big trend back in the 90s, but the length of the skirts back then were much longer than they are now. Nowadays, the skirts are mostly minis and they are usually paired with blazers that are usually fitted, tailored or oversize. You may also find some skirt suit being paired with bralettes or crop tops. The beauty of skirt suits is that they can be worn for different occasions and events. But some workplaces may frown on them considering the length of the skirt. They are, however, perfect for a brunch or girls night out
