Oversized dresses can be a hit-or-miss depending on how you size and style them. Usually, the best way to look elegant in these dresses is to select a size below your regular size. As the name says, these dresses are designed to have a big fitting, and as much as they are comfortable, you don’t want to look bigger than your regular size. Sizing down gives you an oversized dress but with more fit that makes the dress fit your shape well.
Although oversized dresses are fashionable, one needs to style them to make them look good on the wearer. You definitely want to avoid looking out of shape in an already big dress. That is why body type and accessories are necessary considerations when wearing such a fit.
For Johna, I had to consider her petite structure and broad shoulders, which the maxi dress would highlight. So to ensure the look was not overly casual or plain, it was important to accessorize well to portray her style and elevate her appearance.
Because of her broad shoulders, a belt bag accessory was worn on her waist. This helped define the waist and showcase her curves. Using a belt bag is a better option than using a regular belt, because simple belts may not be perfect for every dress type, but a belt bag is always handy and chic.
Finally, the white sneakers were a perfect addition. They contrasted the color of the rest of the outfit and made her look and feel even more comfortable.
