How to Stay Warm and Look Stylish in the Winter Season (GRWM)

A common question I get during this time of the year is, “how do I stay warm and stylish in the winter season?”.

In a previous blog post, I shared tips you can use to tackle this challenge. However, in this blog, I am sharing the practical steps I took to stay warm and look stylish in the winter season.

  1. Layer your Outfits

In winter months, layering is a term you may hear very often.

Layering simply means wearing multiple clothing pieces on top of one another. It gives you the opportunity to wear clothing pieces that you already have in your wardrobe but may have previously overlooked. This allows you to play around with clothing pieces and opens your mind to the possibilities of outfits you can wear. One item I have found helpful is pantyhose, which is an accessory staple in the winter season. Usually, it’s worn with a short dress or mini skirt, but I decided to wear mine under my pants. I chose to do this because I wore ripped jeans, and it's easy for me to feel cold, but with the pantyhose, my jean look ribbed, and I can stay warm.

2. Wear a T-shirt Underneath Your Sweater

Secondly, wearing a t-shirt under my sweater is another great way to layer in the winter season. This option gives you versatility because you can take off your sweater when the weather is warm and pop it back on when it gets colder. This gives you the option to wear your sweater in different styles. Knit sweaters, particularly, can be itchy on the body, so wearing a shirt underneath will help you wear them comfortably.

3. Invest in Hats

Lastly, I used a hat to keep my head warm. Hats come in various shapes and sizes, but I decided to go with this Brixton hat I got from mineandyours. This hat adds an extra pop to the outfit and elevates it to look more elegant or chic. This is why hats are also an important accessory because they can make a difference in an outfit.

I chose to add an extra layer of coat to give a better representation of how you can stay warm, especially if you live in a very cold region. However, you can choose to take off the coat if it’s too much for you. And, of course, I paired this outfit with my ankle-length boots from Aldo.

The items discussed in this article are what I  consider wardrobe-essentials. Wardrobe Essentials are timeless clothing items that lay the groundwork for most of your outfits, and you can pair them with several outfits for different events.

I have owned these items for a while—and I’m sure there are items in your wardrobe that you can repurpose to stay warm and stylish during the winter months. e, I hope this article encourages you to try out those outfits and if you need any help, feel free to connect with me here.
