Packing for a trip
Finally, places are beginning to reopen. It’s been a long journey of waiting and hoping for places to open up so we can pack our bags and travel again. I know a few people who’d love to be on the first flight out as soon as possible.
So, with that in mind, I am highlighting a few points you can use to be well-prepared for your post-pandemic trip:
1. Have An Itinerary - I always recommend having an itinerary before choosing outfits. This will help you know the kind of outfits to pack for the places you’re visiting. Also, it reduces the stress of having to figure out what to do when you arrive.
2. Plan Outfits - Depending on the activities you’ve got planned, you can pick outfits that are best suited for your trip. For example if you are going to an island, you’ll want to pack outfits that will be good for water activities.
3. Assign Outfits To Each Day - Now you have your itinerary, and you know what outfits to go with. Assigning outfits to each day makes the work easy. I assign outfits based on how many activities I will be doing throughout the day and you can put the outfits together in the box and label them with the days of the week to help you remember. Also, you can create a list on your note app to keep you in check.
4. Pack Extra Clothings- I believe it’s better to over pack than under pack because you never know what will happen. However, I have a rule whereby I pack extras for events that I don’t know about. That said, I started doing this because I got stranded once and it was challenging to not have spare outfits. As much as it’s advisable to have extra clothing items, be reasonable about it. Don’t overdo, just pack a couple more pieces that can easily substitute for your already-assigned outfits.
I hope these few tips help you as you prepare for your upcoming trip. Let me know if you have any plans for this summer, or fall, and if you found these tips helpful.
Safe travels!
